October has brought chilly temperatures, wind and rain. It’s turned into quite a lovely fall, cooling me off after a long hot summer and giving me the chance to enjoy the yummy tastes October has to offer.
Last night I decided we were serving a warmed, spiced apple cider at work. It was sort of an executive decision-boss said it was OK but I was doing it with or without approval because that’s just kind of how I role. Besides, I already bought the ingredients.
I’m a firm believer that hearkening back to the classics of childhood will sell at any restaurant. Sometimes you jazz it up for your adult taste buds and other times you leave it alone- and so I offered warmed spiced apple cider with rum or without.
What You Need:
6 cups apple cider
2 cups orange juice
6 table spoons caramel sauce (and make your own)
2 TBS cinnamon
2 tsp Allspice
What You Do:
Whisk ingredients together over a medium heat, bringing to a boil. Then turn down to simmer and serve warm. Add a shot of rum, if you so desire or drink as is. Drizzle a little extra caramel over the top.
Enjoy the taste of fall.
