First off, today is November 1st and I’d like to send a shout out to Catholics around the world commemorating All Saints Day.
Secondly, I wanted to take a moment to wrap Halloween on my end and share with you all pictures of the various pumpkin carvings and dishes I put together for work and home.
On Sunday, the kid and I worked on carving out pumpkins for Halloween decorations. I normally do this on Halloween day, but there was an awful lot happening.
I tend to go for the more traditional pumpkin carving. I have this thing about
not being too scary because I don’t want children to be scared when they trick or treat at the house.
But when it came to work, I finished my Halloween display with a little more “spook”.
The kid on the other hand goes for the…well…I suppose a pumpkin puking is
cute.
Last night at the restaurant I offered a spiked punch special: Orange Juice, Pineapple Juice, Ginger Ale, a drizzle of Grenadine, and a shot of Vodka. Oh yeah, tasty goodness. (Make sure you’re obeying the drinking ages in you area and always appoint a designated driver.)
For an entree special I put together a tasty carbonara: A spinach, bacon and cream cheese blend then heated with Alfredo sauce. This was tossed with a veggie rotini and grilled chicken. I added a ghostly garlic bread to finish the entree out. I think I may have to make this at home!
I’ve had a lot fun this Halloween season but I’m looking forward to the Thanksgiving season. (See how I did that corporate America? I’m staying seasonal and not jumping to Christmas right after Halloween. You’re welcome.)
