Catching Up

Like most people T and I have a tendency to get very busy very fast.

As most know I work in a local restaurant, a position I love by the way, but its tough work and I don’t always “feel” like blogging when I get home. SHAME ON ME.

This past week has been up and down as I’ve been dealing with a rotator cuff injury, a kidney infection and poor T’s asthma has been popping in to say “Hi” more times than actually welcome. Regardless, we’ve been plugging away at life, taking care of the garden, paying bills and learning more about where our food comes from.

Last week I learned more about how hunger impacts our world so I asked people to donate food to their local pantry. I also launched a “Like” drive on Facebook and Twitter stating that for every new Like we got T and I would donate a nickel of our own money to our local food pantry.

This venture was less than successful as we only raised 80 cents. Regardless, we will go shopping to purchase a grocery bag full of food to donate- pictures to come.

I’m a little disappointed in this outcome as I was hoping more would show their support in helping end hunger but we are still new on the playing field and don’t have a wide audience yet. This has proven to me I need to make a bigger effort in raising awareness.

That is where things are at Clean Your Plate. Enjoy your holiday weekend.
